How to Add Social Media Icons & Link Them to Your Accounts

HOW TO ADD SOCIAL MEDIA ICONS

This awesome feature enables you to integrate your business website with all of your social media platforms - keeping everything and everyone connected!

How to get started...

• First, go to your sub domain account and click on “Sites” in the menu on the left hand side as shown in the image below.

• On the top of this page click on “Websites”. Click on the design you chose for your site.

• For the “Home Page” click on the blue drop down menu on the right hand side of the “Edit” button and choose “Edit in a New Tab”.

  

• You can add your social media icons wherever you would like them to be on the page. However, we would recommend to show them at the foot of every page, where the contact information will also be. Scroll down the page and allow the cursor to hover over the middle of the bottom section (the footer). A blue box should appear - click on the plus (+) at the bottom of that box.

  

• A menu will propagate on the left allowing you to add a row and a column(s). If you are wanting your icons to show in the center of the page select “1 column”.

  

• Another blue box will show at the foot of the page now. Hover over the center of that box and an orange button will appear allowing you to “Add Element”. Click on that button.

  

• Another menu will propagate on the left giving you the option to “Add an Element”. Scroll down until you reach the element called “Social Icons” and click on this.

  

• All the possible social media icons will now show on the page within another orange box. Click inside this orange box and an editing menu will propagate on the right hand side.

  

• Here you can remove any icons you don’t want or add any that are not listed. You can also choose whether to show the icon and the text, or just the icon, or even just the text. You can also adjust the positioning and the size of the icons

• To add the link to your social media icons - click on the pencil image next to the icon. A box will pop up to allow you to enter the URL to your social media platforms. Under the URL it shows “New window” - this means that when visitors to your site click on the icon it will open your social media platform in another tab and not take them totally away from your website. Click “Update”.

  

• Once you are happy with the look of the icons on the page, click “Save” in the top right hand corner of the page.

• You can then preview how the page looks with the icons you have added by clicking the “eye” symbol next to “Save” in the top right hand corner of the page. This will open a preview in a new tab. If you are satisfied with how it looks, go back to the editing tab and click on the blue “Publish” button in the top right corner.

  

  You have now successfully integrated your social icons!
